interactive sound reactive creatures
Jellymonsters are mysterious, wobbly creatures. They are lured out by the sounds of passers-by.
They listen, react, and play along with anyone who talks/sings/hums to them.
Make some noise
Try clapping, tapping, or whispering a secret to see how the Jellymonsters react.
They will shift colour, wiggle and change facial expressions depending on the sounds around them.
How they work
Jellymonsters are powered by magic and jelly. No, really they are powered by some secret code, microphones, a hidden computer or two and a projector.
In the wild
Jellymonsters started as an experiment in coding and interactive character design.
They had their public debut at Bristol Light Festival 2026, across a week of chilly evenings in February, to tens of thousands of visitors.
