Mouse is best friends with Giant Owl — or at least Mouse thinks so. Giant Owl spends most of the story trying to fatten Mouse up for dinner, but Mouse just wants to play chase, have sleepovers, and enjoy their friendship.
When Giant Owl unexpectedly saves Mouse (after a, uh, brief snack), Mouse declares them best friends for life.
This one’s actually my favourite picture book story, I think.
